Steaming the leaves are the best method of cooking. Both the leaves and seeds help in the formation of red blood cells: they are used in the treatment of indigestion, flatulence and a sluggish liver. The leaves contains albumen and are rich in vitamins and minerals. The seeds are diuretic, astringent and used in the treatment of anaemia, diabetes, fever, and high blood pressure. It also increses the flow in lactating mothers and is good for acne, wrinkles, and dryness of the face.
